Dog Walk De-Tails
Event Schedule Below
Walk for the Underdog is a registered 501(c)3 entirely run by volunteers. 100% of the money donated isdistributed amongst 30 rescue foundations. (See the So Who Benefits? page).
The May 18th, 2008, Walk for the Underdog will be the biggest dog pack and dog party on earth! The Walk starts at the La Brea Tar Pits, 5801 Wilshire Blvd. LA, 90036. Registration is at 9:30a.m., the walk will begin at 11 a.m. and lasts about an hour (approximately 1.3 miles). Hundreds of dogs will be available for adoption. Incredible bands and entertaining dog agility and trianing events will be ongoing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the walk, about 500 "top dogs" from loving homes parade through the streets of Los Angeles with their humans, to raise money for the "underdogs," who await rescue. Walk for the Underdog is a sight to behold!! Of course, in addition to it being a dog pack extraordinaire, it's a day of non-stop fun:
Hundreds of dogs up for adoption
Live music all day
Food and Drinks
Vendors selling to dogs and humans
Dog-related entertainment
Surprise celebrity guests
And if you don't have time to raise money make a donation for $25 at the event and join the walk. And you don't even need a dog to walk with us!
In 2007, 300 walkers participated and over 3,500 people attended the event. This year, we're expecting over 500 sponsored walkers and thousands more attendees.
Walk for the Underdog has arranged for all-day parking at a cost of only $5 at the 5750 Wilshire Blvd. Building.
